ENCUENTRO DE CERAMISTAS 2012
Casa Chihuahua Centro de Patrimonio Cultural Museum
Chihuahua, Mexico
During Gregory Wood's recent lecture at the inaugural Encuentro
de Ceramistas in Chihuahua, Mexico he stressed the importance of preserving
ceramic artifacts, tradition and technology and how new directions in
contemporary ceramic arts have been influenced by the past.
For the first time, the Encuentro de Ceramistas event brought together
interested parties from Mexico and beyond to share their passion for ceramics.
Ceramists, sculptors, educators, students, anthropologists, archaeologists, art
historians, business people and others all offered interesting perspectives on
the ceramic arts. Collaboration and lively discussion helped to make the
inaugural Encuentro a great success. Many thanks to Prof. Julian Hernandez for
organizing this worthwhile event.
Information will be
posted here on Encuentro de Ceramistas 2014 as it becomes available.
